USPTO Press Release, 11-34 Washington – The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), in cooperation with the Office of the Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator (IPEC), today announced the launch of a new online database (www.usipr.gov) where U.S. government agencies are now posting information about the intellectual property rights (IPR) training programs they conduct around the world. The Global Intellectual Property Education: Training Program Database was a product of the 2010 Joint Strategic Plan on Intellectual Property Enforcement. FTC Proposes Innovation and Reform Ideas that Benefit Consumers   Thursday, April 28, 2011

The Federal Trade Commission has prepared a report The Evolving IP Marketplace: Aligning Patent Notice and Remedies with Competition, highlighting concerns and providing solutions to assist in the redefinition of the U.S. Patent system where innovation will benefit consumers. The report presents its objectives for two areas of patent law: improving the clarity of claims to provide clear technology boundaries, as well as remedies for improving patent infringement. “This new report provides valuable insights on how courts can reform the patent system to best serve consumers, and it complements the Commission’s 2003 report on improving patent quality. Proper shading is critical for success of the patent as the creation of a realistic form will eliminate potential doubt in an examiners mind, as well as solidify the claims for future embodiments. Top 20 companies & law firms with USPTO issued patents for the third quarter  Wednesday, November 18, 2009

We have just compiled our list for the top 20 companies and the top 20 law firms who were issued patents by the USPTO for the third quarter of 2009. No big surprises out there from the corporate side with IBM, Samsung, and Microsoft clearly leading with IP innovations. Take interest of Townsend and Townsend with 457, compared to last quarters 376 – it’s great to see some firms getting busy again
